In the light of celebrating International Women's Day, we ran a week-long women's health drive in the villages of Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) in collaboration with Prayagraj Power Generation Company Ltd (PPGCL).
Team ALIG visited Khansimra village and conducted a session with the women of all age groups to discuss the issues we rarely talk about; from menstrual hygiene to the importance of nutrition to follow during the cycle, etc.
From March 8th to March 13th, we reached out to more than five hundred women from underserved backgrounds and conducted fourteen awareness sessions on menstrual health.
We concluded our session by displaying them the varieties of cloth pads and their advantages. We also distributed a sustainable period kit to all the women with a pledge to adopt a sustainable and healthy menstrual practice with one and all.
