COVID-19 in the last two months had a devastating impact on all sectors, education being one of the most affected. ALIG decided to continue engaging with the students of government schools, where it has its intervention through online classes. The idea was to keep the students interested in studies.

Before implementation, teachers did a ground survey to document the details of children who had access to smartphones and the internet. Later, students were divided into groups according to their classes. Teachers adopted different mediums like Zoom, WhatsApp, and Conference Call to teach the students. We have noticed dynamic changes in the students, and it is heartening to note that their zeal for learning in these trying times has not diminished. Teachers use audio and video modules to make learning easy and interesting.

ALIG started online classes with 60 government school students in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Now, it has reached out to 3152 students in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand
