SKILL PROGRAMS

Basic Stitching and Tailoring

This program was started in 2012 with 6 beneficiaries.

Women and girls are identified from vulnerable section of the society and imparted training in basic stitching and tailoring. They are trained by experts and defined syllabus is followed so that they become proficient and can work professionally.

ALIG believes that skilled women can add to the income of the family and enhance the living standard. Single women, who are priority of this program could become financially independent.

Hand and Machine Embroidery

The program was started in 2012 with 6 beneficiaries.

Handicraft

Handicraft training started with the launch of Skill Training Program in 2012.

This is mandatory for all the trainees opting for Skill Training Program. This is a part of extra-curricular activities. On every Saturday trainees are encouraged to use available resources to make handicraft items that they could bring in personal use or sale it commercially if they desire.

Through this initiative ALIG wishes to give additional options to trainees to generate extra income.

Beautician

ALIG started this training program in the year 2015.

Under this program girls and women are trained by professionals in the beautician course. Priority is given to girls and women who come from impoverished economic background. Effort is also made to place them with local beauty parlors so that they could earn an honest living.

Through this initiative ALIG wishes to promote economic independence among the underprivileged section of the society.

Digital Literacy

Computer Literacy Program was started for college and school going girls in the year 2015 to promote Digital Literacy.

Interested girls are trained for six months and made proficient in Windows, MS Office, DOS, Internet etc. so that they could use their computer skills in daily lives and it also opens job opportunity for the interested.

We wish to contribute in the Digital Literacy Mission of the government and spread the awareness about importance of technology in daily lives.

Computer Hardware

Training for girls in computer Hardware started in the year 2016.

Under this program we encourage girls to learn skills which provides job opportunities. Girls are trained to repair computers as well as learn its usage.

Through this program girls are encouraged to become financially independent.

Udyami – A Self Help Group for Women Empowerment

Udyami- An ALIG Initiative started in the year 2015.

This is an initiative to promote entrepreneurship among women who are trained by ALIG in different skills.  It is an enterprise run by women, with support of its parent organization - ALIG.

Through Udyami, ALIG strives to provide a platform for women and groom them to evolve as professionals and entrepreneurs. This would instill financial independence in the women who are a part of this initiative.
