ALIG has its interventions in Government Schools through Adopt a School Program. Schools are selected based on the identified parameters.
After the identification of School along with sponsors and permission from appropriate authorities to engage, ALIG provides a teacher who supports in the teaching and learning.
The idea behind this program is to assist those schools which has inferior Pupil-Teacher ratio.
Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) is the first program of ALIG, which started in 2008. Till date more than 125 students have been supported through this initiative.
This initiative focusses on financially disadvantaged students who wish to continue their education. Individual sponsors provide financial aid to needy children and give them hope to attain higher education.
We wish to give an opportunity to as many students as possible to complete their education. No student should discontinue their education for financial reasons.
Adult Literacy Program started in 2016 and has now spread to 27 centers and 132 beneficiaries.
This is a volunteer intensive program spearheaded by the government school students enrolled in the schools where ALIG has its intervention. Student Volunteers motivate the adult illiterates of their areas towards literacy. Volunteers are supported by ALIG teachers in the execution of the program. Centers are identified with the help of the community. Defined syllabus is used to make the participating adults functional literate.
ALIG aspires to achieve 100% literacy in its project areas.
This program started in 2010 and focusses on school going children.
This program provides career counselling to students who are keen to build their careers. Sessions are also held in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya's (KGBV) for students.
Through this program we wish to appraise the students of various career opportunities available to them once they finish their education. Students are also mentored and advised in choosing right careers based on their interests.
This Program Was Started In December 2014 With Two Government Middle Schools In Jamshedpur. As Of Now There Are 11 Government Primary And Middle Schools With More Than 2542 Students.
This Is A Learning Enhancement Program Wherein Competency Based Curriculum And Instructional Materials Are Used To Improve The Learning Levels Of The Students. For An All Round Development Of The Student, Various Activities Are Conducted Through ECO Club, Digital Literacy, Games And Sports, Quiz Competitions On Science And General Knowledge.
ALIG Through Its Engagement Aspires To Improve Reading, Writing Proficiency In Different Classes. Students Learn Joyfully And At Their Own Pace And ALIG Teachers Facilitate The Teaching-learning Process Keeping In Mind The Individual Differences
Community Library was started in 2011 and is presently functional at two locations.
Community Libraries are established in the mohallas for the students to avail the facilities. Students could come and use the library for studying. Books of different classes are available in these libraries.
We wish to inculcate reading habits among the students and encourage them to focus on their studies.
